A Wedding Venue in Cambridge, MD

Pleasant Street Hall is an indoor wedding venue in downtown Cambridge, in Dorchester County on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Everything permanent in the hall is neutral. Red brick, black posts and beams, hardwood floors, tall factory windows. Nothing in it has an opinion about your colors, so what you bring in is what people see.

Ceremony Backdrop and Head Table

The wall behind the head table is bare brick, the easiest thing in the building to build against. Drape, string lights, greenery, an arch, or a plain sweetheart table with two chairs.

Decor at that scale comes in with you or your florist. The venue provides the room, the furniture and the wall.

Tables, Chairs and Linens Included

Round tables seat eight. Tables, chairs and a basic linen package come with the rental, which is most of what a reception hall rental usually costs extra.

A runner, a centerpiece and sashed chairs are generally all it takes, because the brick and the old floors behind them already give you plenty.

The Reception Hall, Set for a Wedding

Same floor, same brick, same windows, with a wedding in it.

The furniture is ours. Everything else on those tables arrived that morning.

Ceremony and Reception in One Venue

The floor plan moves, so most couples hold the ceremony and the reception in the same space and turn the room over in between. One venue, no drive between two of them, and no gap where guests have nowhere to be.

  • Seated ceremony and reception: up to 100 guests
  • Cocktail and reception style: up to 120 guests

That size suits a small wedding or a micro wedding better than a hotel ballroom does.

What’s Included in the Venue Rental

  • Full use of the indoor event space, yours alone for the length of the rental
  • Tables and chairs, with a basic linen package available
  • Sound system for ceremony music and the reception
  • Two restrooms
  • On-site parking
  • Day-of coordination

The adjoining room is useful on a wedding day. Staging, the caterer, or somewhere to put gifts and coats that is not a corner of the reception.

Where the Venue Is

Pleasant Street Hall is at 416-B Pleasant St., Cambridge, MD 21613. Look for the white portico and the steps.

Worth putting the B on your invitations, because the building has more than one entrance.

Weddings Across the Eastern Shore

Couples book the hall from across Dorchester, Talbot, Caroline and Wicomico counties. Cambridge is a short drive from Easton, St. Michaels, Oxford, Trappe, Secretary, Hurlock, Vienna, Denton and Salisbury, so it lands near the middle when a guest list is spread across the Shore and the Bay Bridge.

Adding an Outdoor Ceremony

If you want an outdoor ceremony, a garden cocktail hour, or a structure built for the day, the outdoor planning page covers how we arrange it and who we recommend on the Shore.

Showers, Rehearsals and Anniversaries

The same room hosts bridal showers and rehearsal dinners, and it is still here for an anniversary party years from now.
